WOODED LOT CLEARING
Hiram sits right where Paulding County's growth meets the tree line, and that is exactly where land clearing gets asked for. Lots off Bill Carruth Parkway and the streets behind the US-278 corridor were cut from standing timber, and the parcels that were skipped are still holding thick pine, hardwood and fifteen years of accumulated underbrush. Escamilla Tree Service is family-owned, fully licensed and insured, and based about ten miles away in Austell - which makes Hiram one of the quickest places we get equipment to.
Most Hiram clearing work falls into one of three jobs. The first is opening up a wooded residential lot so something can actually be built on it - a house, a shop, a pool, or an addition that the existing tree cover will not allow. The second is reclaiming a back portion of a lot that was left wooded when the subdivision went in and has since filled with privet, briar and volunteer saplings. The third is boundary and easement work, cutting a fence line back to where it belongs.
The tree mix here is mostly loblolly pine with white and red oak through the older hollows, over the same red clay that runs across this side of the county. Pine clears quickly and chips well. Mature oak is slower, heavier, and usually the part of the job that decides the equipment and the price.
Clay matters more than people expect. It holds water, it rutted easily under tracked machines after rain, and once the cover comes off a slope it moves. We plan access and the order of work around that rather than dealing with it afterwards.
There is a real difference between a lot that looks clear and a lot that is ready to build on. Felling the trees is the visible part. What decides whether a contractor can start is what is left below grade - stumps, root plates and buried debris that will otherwise come out of someone's foundation budget later.
On a build-ready Hiram job we take stumps and major roots out rather than grinding to a cosmetic depth, pull buried stone and old fill where we find it, and finish with the site graded enough to see what you actually have. If the plan is a lawn rather than a slab, the specification is different and cheaper, so it is worth telling us which it is before we quote.
We walk the parcel with you, agree what stays and what goes, check access, and put a written itemised price in your hand. Acreage and constrained lots cannot be quoted honestly over the phone.
Licensed, insured crews with the right machines for the ground. Trees marked to stay are protected, and the work is sequenced so access and weather do not wreck the site.
Material chipped or mulched on site, or hauled off if the ground has to finish clean. Stumps handled to the standard you have asked for, and the site left usable.

Hiram lots run from a quarter acre behind a house to several wooded acres on the back roads toward Dallas. We size the machines to the parcel:

Escamilla Tree Service provided a very competitive estimate for our project. They were courteous, efficient and completed the project quickly. The price quoted included stump grinding which they did at the time of tree cutting and also removed the logs before they left.Posted on Google![]()

Why Escamilla
It depends on whether the parcel is inside the City of Hiram or in unincorporated Paulding County, and on how much ground is being disturbed - land disturbance is handled separately from tree removal. Confirm for your parcel before work starts. We will tell you which authority governs your address when we assess the site.
It depends almost entirely on what is standing and what has to leave the site. Light brush and saplings on flat ground is the cheap end; heavy mixed timber with stumps extracted and hauled off is the expensive end. We quote on site, in writing, itemised - a per-acre number given over the phone is a guess.
Yes, and it usually saves money. Forestry mulching processes vegetation in place and leaves a mulch layer that helps hold clay against erosion. If the ground has to be clean for building, we haul instead. Both are priced separately so you can choose.
A quarter-acre of brush can be a day. Several wooded acres with stump extraction runs into multiple days and depends on weather, because clay does not take machine traffic well when it is saturated. We give you a realistic window rather than a best case.
Yes. Grinding and full root extraction are both available and are quoted separately, because they are genuinely different amounts of work. Tell us whether you are planting grass or pouring a slab and we will specify the right one.
