ACREAGE & FORESTRY MULCHING
Palmetto sits at the rural edge of Fulton County, where the county gives way to farmland, pasture, and stretches of hardwood and pine forest. Land out here isn't measured in city lots — it's measured in acres, and clearing it takes real machinery and real experience. Whether you're reclaiming overgrown farmland, opening a wooded tract for a home, or cutting back years of growth along a property line, Escamilla Tree Service has the tools and the crew to do it right. We're a family-owned company staffed by ISA Certified Arborists, based in Austell, with more than 15 years clearing land across the metro and its rural fringe.
Rural land clearing is a different animal from clearing a subdivision lot. Palmetto's acreage carries mature hardwoods, dense pine, thick understory, and often years of neglect that let brush, vines, and volunteer trees take over pasture and field edges. Reclaiming it takes equipment built for volume — and a plan that protects the healthy timber, drainage, and topsoil you want to keep.
For large forested and overgrown tracts, forestry mulching is often the smartest approach: our Fecon bull hogs and forestry mulching heads grind brush and small trees into mulch right where they stand, enriching the soil and eliminating burn piles and haul-off. For bigger trees and clean site prep, we bring cranes, bucket trucks, chippers, and full stump and root removal. Palmetto's clay-heavy soils and forested lots are exactly the conditions our crews are built for.
Clearing acreage properly takes planning, the right machines, and thorough cleanup so the land is genuinely ready for its next use. Around Palmetto we handle:
On large forested and overgrown tracts, forestry mulching is often the most efficient, lowest-impact way to clear. Here's why it fits Palmetto land so well:
Have acreage that's gotten away from you? Whether it's a wooded homesite or reclaiming pasture, we'll walk the tract and lay out the smartest approach. Call (404) 426-8613 for a free on-site assessment anywhere around Palmetto.
An ISA Certified Arborist walks the acreage, evaluates the timber, understory, terrain, and access, notes what should stay and what should go, and provides a transparent, no-obligation quote.
We clear the tract with equipment matched to the job — forestry mulchers and bull hogs for understory and small trees, cranes and bucket trucks for large hardwoods — protecting the timber, drainage, and soil you want preserved.
We mulch or haul off debris, grind stumps and roots where requested, and leave the land clean and ready for building, grazing, planting, or whatever comes next.
You may be ready for professional land clearing in Palmetto if:
Clearing and grading large acreage can fall under land-disturbance rules or tree ordinances. It's worth a quick check with the City of Palmetto or Fulton County before major work, and our team can help you understand whether that applies to your tract.
Land clearing often pairs with our other work on rural Palmetto properties. We handle tree removal for individual hazard or nuisance trees, stump grinding to finish a cleared building site, tree trimming to maintain the timber you keep, and emergency tree service after a storm. Why Escamilla
Rural land clearing is generally quoted per acre or per project, and the price hinges on how heavily wooded the tract is, the density of the understory, the number and size of trees, the terrain, and access. Because Palmetto acreage varies so widely, we don't quote flat numbers — you'll get a clear, written estimate after a free on-site assessment, with no hidden fees or invented figures.
Forestry mulching uses a machine like a Fecon bull hog or a mulching head to grind brush, undergrowth, and small trees into mulch right where they stand — no burn piles, no hauling. It's often ideal for large Palmetto tracts because it protects the soil, returns nutrients, and lets us clear selectively while leaving mature timber. For heavier trees and full site prep, we combine it with cranes, chippers, and stump removal. We'll recommend the right mix after walking your property.
Yes. Selective clearing is one of the biggest advantages of forestry mulching. We can grind out the brush, vines, and small volunteer growth while preserving the healthy hardwoods and pines you want to keep for shade, timber value, or a wooded homesite. During the free assessment we'll mark what stays and what goes with you.
We do — those are exactly the conditions our crews work in across south Fulton and the rural metro. Our equipment is chosen for forested tracts and Georgia's clay ground, and forestry mulching in particular helps hold clay soils against erosion after clearing.
It can depend on the size of the job, how much land disturbance is involved, and whether protected trees are in play. Rather than state specifics, we always recommend checking with the City of Palmetto or Fulton County before major clearing or grading. Our team can walk your tract and help you understand what may apply first.
It depends on the acreage, how dense the timber and understory are, and the terrain. Lighter mulching jobs can move quickly, while heavily wooded acreage with large trees takes longer. Our arborist gives you a realistic timeline as part of the free written estimate, so you can plan your build or project around it.
